Comox Valley Farmers’ Market coming to Comox Community Centre this summer
The Comox Valley Farmers’ Market expanded to Comox in 2025 with the launch of a new weekly summer market at the Comox Community Centre field.
The market operates on Wednesdays from June 25 through August 27, running from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. It joins the existing year-round Saturday market in Courtenay and the Sunday market in Cumberland, becoming the third Farmers’ Market location in the Comox Valley.
The initiative was developed through a partnership between the Town of Comox and the Comox Valley Farmers’ Market Association. The market provides residents with greater access to fresh, locally produced food and products while supporting local farmers, fishers, and small businesses.
Comox Valley Farmers’ Market Association General Manager Arzeena Hamir noted that the market is about more than food, emphasizing its role in supporting local agriculture, strengthening community connections, and improving accessibility to local products.
Mayor Nicole Minions welcomed the addition of the market to Comox, highlighting its contribution to food security, sustainability, and healthy living opportunities for residents of all ages.
Town staff and the Farmers’ Market Association worked together to coordinate logistics, including parking arrangements and weather contingency planning, to support a successful launch and ongoing operation of the market.
